Inna
Inna
Opalised wood and diamond pendant.
What is opalised wood?
Although the name might suggest that it is something special, few realize that it is a natural wonder. Opalised wood was ever really just wood. Wood ended up in the sediments of which the organic material in the course of literally centuries (!) atom by atom was converted to primarly silica; the main component of, indeed, opal.
Pseudomorphisme, the name of the process that (under exactly the right conditions) ensures that these pieces of wood were converted into opal. Often large parts of the original wood structure remained visible.
A gemstone with full organic origin, this has the weight of wood, the colors of opal and the visual structure of the tree where the piece once belonged.... opalised wood is truly an unique natural wonder.
